more on grid computing

Grid computing is a computer application that allows several computers to share coordinate and collect a large amount of data. A grid is usually aimed at solving a problem or networking data in order to gain more information about something. Grid computing uses unique software that is specific to the computing problem that the grid is working to solve. The computers involved process data and work together, and, therefore, more efficiently toward problem-solving. While using several computers, grid computing is able to solve large calculated problems using less computing power.

The use of grid computing in our evolution service learning projects will allow us to virtually help work towards and learn about the evolution of a disease and its cure. The coordination granted to all of the users involved allows us to network and communicate in order to help with the computing processes needed in order to solve a large problem ( for example: finding the cure to a disease).
